The Cooking Event has ended in Roblox’s Grow a Garden with Chris. P ousted from his prime position at the center of the map for the new Beanstalk Event NPC. However, as promised, cooking is now a permanent fixture in the game, and you’ll still be able to whip up your favourite meals; you might just be unsure about exactly how to do that.
The latest update mentions that you can keep cooking by using your Cooking Kit, but how do you get one of these, and how do you use it? Here’s what you need to know.
At the time of writing, players are reporting issues with Cooking Kits, and the team is looking into a fix.
How To Get A Cooking Kit
The Garden Guide was added as part of the update that removed Chris P., which you can find by going into your inventory and searching for ‘Garden Guide’. Click anywhere to use it once you have it in hand, and it’ll open an index of your pets, crops, recipes, and more.
There’s an achievement section within, and here’s where you’ll get your Cooking Kit. The easiest way to get a Cooking Kit is to complete the Common Achievements challenge, which requires you to do the following:
Shovel 100 plants.
Harvest 200 carrots.
Gift one carrot.
Sell 500 Strawberries.
Gift five Strawberries.
There are other achievement rewards that offer Cooking Kits, and it seems you can have three in your garden at once. However, the above is the easiest way to obtain one.
After you’ve done all of these, you can claim your Cooking Kit and Silver Seed Packet rewards from within the Garden Guide.
Fun fact, the Gorilla Chef pet will use the Cooking Kit the same way it interacts with a Cooking Pot or Cooking Cauldron.
How To Use The Cooking Kit
Open your Cosmetics inventory, then place your Cooking Kit wherever you want it in your garden.
You can now place ingredients in it as you did previously, and you can still view your ingredient list, mutation chance, and timer. Chris P. is no longer a factor, so there are no rewards or cravings to be satisfied. We have a complete list of cooking recipes right here.
The removal of cravings is a bit of a godsend, really, as cravings would often make recipes less reliable, depending on whether they were similar to the one being craved.
