This was from a bar btw, so it’s something people would, I would assume, typically be expected to pay for. I didn’t try any, but my parents described it as greasy and a bit mealy.

What were they expecting? You take the sauce out of a sloppy Joe all u got is a crumbled hamburger lol

Oh…. this thing is called, I shit you not, “loosemeat”. I discovered that this exists once upon a time as well. There is a lot of interesting food I’ve seen in the Americas, and this…. this is certainly one of those.

It’s called a chopped steak sandwich here

Certifiably one of the foods of all time, seems incredibly dry while somehow also being incredibly greasy

In Greenville Ohio they serve sandwiches called Maid-Rites which are just seasoned beef but they are amazing. Like, this place is a staple and known well throughout the state/greater area.

Loose meat sandwiches on white bread with mayo and yellow mustard is freaking good but I don’t know what this is.

What else would you expect? Serious question. Sloppy Joe is burger and tomato sauce with spices hopefully. Thats it.

I’ve always heard those called steamburgers. Little dry depending on the fat content of the meat, but otherwise fine.

This is called a tavern and it’s a gd Midwest delicacy

Might as well just make a seasoned hamburger. Most of the concept of a sloppy joe is the sauce.
