Doing an overhaul on an old Traeger BBQ075 (Texas Elite) and wondering about this seal at the bottom of the hopper to the auger box. Should I replace this?
I have plenty of Lava Lock for the lid, would that be suitable? The existing seal has a foam feel to it.

I’m planning on doing the same thing with my BBQ07E that my dad gave me last year. Upgrading the auger motor, induction fan, and control board.
Personally if it looks to be in good shape, I would just leave it alone. Traegers are so simple that if it were to fail in the future it would be a quick fix and there wouldn’t be that much downtime.
It’s probably fine to reuse. It’s there in case it gets rained on, it’s possible for water to run down between the hopper and barrel.
Always have a can of ass cleaner ready.
Lava lock?
At least it has an auger brace. Trim it so it doesn’t overlap
