Andros Taverna had been on my restaurant to try list for a while and I am so happy we finally prioritized it. It really delivered and honestly brought back some of that chill joy that just joyously good food gives you.
When we sat we were greeted by a table greeting dish of on vine tomatoes with olive oil, Maldon salt and Mediterranean, garlic bread crumbs. This is now my new favorite snack. Will be making this at home, so fresh and simple.
We ordered from the raw menu the bluefin tuna and each got an olive oil martini. Both arrived promptly with great descriptions of the accompaniements by our waitress. The Aleppo oil and black salsa with the tuna delivers a perfect heat with the tuna, not unafraid of some kick while the olive oil martini is exactly as it sounds, just good quality olive oil and gin, simple kicky to the face with some gin.
We did the mezze collection to follow with the recommended spreads – spicy whipped feta, taramasalata, and tzatziki. All were delicious but the freshly made wood fired pita truly stole the show.
For our entree we split the special lamb cut, lamb shank with the potatoes fournou. Fall off the bone tender and flavorfoul.
We were just able to squeeze in dessert and got the Baklava Froyo, oaty pieces, honey drizzles and pistachio crunch, it was lovely but quite a serving.
All in all portions were great, everything was served hot fresh and timely. The service was top notch and prices were really reasonable. This will be a repeat restaurant for me and a reco for visitors for purely good, delicious food low pretence.
