“Medium” ribeye I got at a very expensive restaurant after I’d already sent the first back


First time it came with absolutely no pink at all and very dry, sent it back and this is what I got. What do you guys think? This was 44 dollars which in my country’s currency (Brazil) is an exorbitant price for steak

    Show them a picture of ‘medium’, tell them the temperature you want the middle to be, and order some tacos instead.

    Yeah that’s horrible. It’s weird how many high-end steak joints can get by on atmosphere and perceived value (generated largely by just overpricing their food) without ever learning how to cook a steak.

    Pretty much every place I go to if I order medium I get medium well and sometimes just well done. I have to order medium rare. Worst case scenario I get a stake that’s rare. Best case I get what I actually wanted.

    I prefer my meat medium well. With ground beef to be well done.

    This is an atrocity if you ordered medium.

    We only know how to cook steak one way no matter how many times you send it back said the main chef…lol

    I started ordering my steaks rare at restaurants maybe ten years ago. I figured if they overcook it, worse case I get a medium rare to just on the edge of medium.

    I wasn’t really a big rare fan at the time but just figured it was better than getting something medium to medium well which I hated. Turns out I love rare steak and now I never get one overcooked to the point where I’ll send it back.

    Its kinda hard to judge it by picture alone, it does look a bit overcooked for a medium steak but lighting can make steak look way more cooked than it actually is.

    Not that this is the case for yours but I know for some reason natural lighting makes things look WAY overdone. I used to work at a steakhouse and we’d get complaints on the temps but as soon as we brought them inside they had perfect cooks on them, not sure what the science behind that is

    Your country also makes some of the best steak in the world (I love picanha) so this is completely unacceptable 👎 I would never go back again unless someone paid me to

    Jeez, it looks like a relatively large steak…why are you complaining about the size of it!? Should just be grateful
