Smoked, then grilled brats = best brats

    I agree smoke then sear is the way to do it! If tailgating or making a lot of brats for a crowd, I’ll then let them sit in a hot beer tub with onion so they don’t dry out.

    While I agree that this is good….beer boiled, then seared on a grill….thats the best.

    I don’t generally grill them after, but hard agree that smoked brats are the best way to make them. When I’m making a pork butt I’ll often throw on brats too.

    Basic ass question, but how long do you smoke them, and how do you keep from drying up and getting all pruney?

    It’s a great disappointment to me that they don’t sell my favorite sweet Italian sausage brand around here any more. I have to get by with the not-as-good ones.
