Hello
I am in Europe and I need some advice or feedback please. I usually order the Yumenishiki (Origin : Italy) from this brand at 29,99€ per 5 KG. I saw Yum Asia (origin Vietnam )is selling some koshihikari also but at 23€ per 5kg. Does anybody ever tried both ?

Yumenishiki is calrose if i am not mistaken. I personally do not like the Italy grown rice variants.

I don’t have experience with the specific brand you mentioned, but i have been buying vietnamese japonica lately and found it to be better than the US grown calrose varieties.

I can tell you that the rice variety is only part of the story when it comes to rice quality, and usually you get what you pay for (though not always!). Ultimately, you should try both and see what you prefer. Sometimes 2 kg bags are also available.

Can I ask, is Japanese-grown rice not available where you are? Those prices are shocking to me, I would expect top-tier quality if I’m paying that much.
