I did not realize how deep the rabbit hope really was. Got into espresso about a month ago and this is what my “budget” setup looks like now. Is this overkill or do I have more work to do here.

Having a gagggimate to then use syrups is definetely an overkill.

I dig the black. And the Gaggimate (PRO), I’m running one on my Rancilio, with the same profile. 😉

This is a great first setup! I also had a Gaggic as my first machine. I did a PID mod within a couple months and I graduated to a Silvia Pro X so I could utilize a dual boiler so I could steam/brew at the same time.

I would be wary about keeping simple syrup out as it is supposed to be refrigerated.

  4. It’s whatever you need it to be! Overkill and inadequate are subjective to each of us.

Helluva start. How do you like the grinder?

  6. Looks good! Looks like you’ve been paying close attention here.

Awesome setup. I’ve been considering upgrading to a gaggia family machine from a bambino

How tricky was the gaggiamate install?

To be honest, if I was you, I would try to learn first without any profiling. Doing bad shots and learning to fix them without profiles that can sometimes cover mistakes will make you learn even more.

Wowl, amazing first choice. I wish that was my first choice. Only thing I would add is a blind shaker

What’s that grinder? Looks very clean

Hey! That’s really close to mine. I have a GCP with a PID.

I have zero plans to upgrade. It’s honestly such a solid setup.

Fantastic intro. I wish I had the confidence for gaggiamate

Where did you find the tray that’s under your syrups ? Share the link pls if you don’t mind.

That’s a dope setup! When you start drinking more and you’re tired or dumping that knock box frequently, normcore makes a fantastic metal one that sits perfectly under the timemore sclupter! It’s super convienant, drawer just pulls out and it’s got a nice capacity. I only mention it because I have the same grinder haha, happy brewing!

Is the thing next to your tamper a leveler or WDT? If WDT what brand?
