Ingredients for the dough:
– 400g flour
– 200g plant based milk (I used almond milk)
– 40g brown sugar
– 5g dry yeast
– 1 tablespoon seed oil (I used sunflower oil)
– 3g salt
Ingredients for filling:
– Strawberry jam
– Cinnamon
– Chocolate chips
Warm the plant based milk with a dash of cinnamon, after that add the yeast and mix.
In another bowl mix flour, sugar, and salt then add the milk with yeast we set aside previously, add seed oil too (I mixed first with a spoon, then kneaded by hand). Cover the dough and let it rise for one hour/ one hour and a half in a warm place.
After it has approximately doubled the size roll out the dough with a rolling pin, spread the strawberry jam, dash cinnamon and add chocolate chips on top of it (donβt make the same mistake I did and use a thin layer of jam otherwise it will spill when you roll it up) roll it up, and cut it into rolls. Place them in a baking tray (oil the base of the tray otherwise theyβll stick), cover them with a cloth and let them rise for another couple of hours.
Then, brush the outside with some plant-based milk and bake it at 180Β°C (350Β°F) for 25/30 minutes (I checked them around 20 min by inserting a toothpick to see if the insides needed a bit more time to fully cook).
I served them with strawberry jam on top and some sprinkles, they turned out delicious!
