I was strolling through BigY and cane across these tenderloins on sale for 12.99/lb. I've never attempted one of these before, but was hoping to get some options on this cut and price. Would these be good sliced into steaks or roasted whole? And are these worth taking a stab at this price? Thanks!

Slice for steaks, absolutely!!!
Dry rub, tie and roast, absolutely!!!
You may have to do some trim but probably not much. Enjoy
It’s normally worth it. You can make steaks if you know how to trim it. Meat will still be tender but it will just not taste much. Put some good seasoning or marinade and it will be good.
I would be all over it
I’d buy every one at that price but I sell a LOT of filet
Ok, that’s actually Certified Angus Beef (see the logo on the packaging?). I’m a CAB specialist for my company. That is upper 2/3rds choice angus beef, at an insanely good price. That looks like the butt tender, which includes both the psoas major and minor muscles. Steaks cut from these two muscles are (typically) called metro tenderloin steaks. Check out the CAB website. Lots of good info on their program.
Filet Mignon or Beef Wellington
Load up
DO IT
That would be three times the price or more where I am.
Why the discount tho
