Iron Chef and James Beard Award winner Jose Chef will open his second Allentown restaurant next month.
The Japanese-style Okatshe will open in mid-September at 947 W. Hamilton St., a news release provided by City Center Group spokesperson Jeff Vaughan announced.
Connected to the Moxy Allentown Downtown hotel, the restaurant will serve Japanese small plates, sushi, sashimi, cocktails and Japanese whiskey.
Garces, who opened the Cuban cafe and rum bar Rosa Blanca in March at 950 Hamilton St., said in the release, “Our experience in downtown Allentown has been wonderful. Our second concept, Okatshe, is going to add a unique food and bar experience to the Lehigh Valley’s growing culinary scene. We can’t wait to reveal more details over the next few weeks, but we are thrilled with the location, which is connected to The Moxy Hotel, next to Archer Music Hall and across the street from Rosa Blanca.”
Potential Okatshe employees can email their resume to okatshehiring@chefgarces.com to apply for positions such as hosts, bartenders, servers, food runners, line cooks, sous chefs and dishwashers.
