That’s a very refreshing bite of soba.

And I can dip my balls in there afterwards to maximize refreshment.

    What’s not to love?

  2. Ok_Understanding5184

I would be mad if I hand made noodles just for 1/4 of them to be clipped and thrown out for each individual order

  3. Asleep-Elk4159

“How can we charge $150 for noodles that cost us $0.04 cents to make”

  4. Wellziemo

The fact they even cut the noodles to make sure youre getting less…

  5. Interesting_Help_274

    Those are definitely not fullfilling.

  6. beepbeep_imbibi

Yes, my cold soba with soup in melting water just what I wanted

  7. -_Redan_-

I thought he was going to pour whiskey in there, but he threw the pasta in.

  8. All_This_Mayhem

I thought this was going in a wildly different direction when dude started drilling a hole in the ice block.

  9. BobbyLinguini

I mean, interesting and stupid aren’t mutually exclusive concepts

  10. MJoriginal

Why would you not just have a bowl mold for the ice? Seems like so much work to carve the bowl in the first place

  11. emergency-snaccs

Chilled noodles, executed incredibly well. Not stupid. Maybe this is one of those things that seems stupid to stupid people? idk.

  12. I like the bowl but IDK how good ice cold noodles are

  13. fuck_all_you_too

I cant take the sound of a knife cutting ice, im out.

  14. AudioBob24

It’s sad when high quality ice gets used for stuff other than cocktails and chainsaw sculptures, but that does look like good soba

  15. BanjoSpaceMan

Over indulgent, sure, I mean most of the fancy places are. The ice serves its purpose for food that should be cold, so it’s just fancy.

    Stupid? Ehhhh

  16. virus_apparatus

    Some real r/wewantplates stuff here.

It’s tons of wasted ice too

  17. karenskygreen

It looks beautiful, it’s probably the price that’s stupid.

  18. This is a good question, I’m not sure if it’s stupid food because this is smart presentation. Soba served on ice is a common summer meal in Japan.

  19. OrdinaryFrosting1

Using a power drill negates all the coolness of this.

  20. zzptichka

That’s likely one of the courses for a chef’s tasting menu in a high end restaurant. Multiple dishes served one after another, they have to be this small and stupid by design.

  21. The clear water and colored noodles look gross together. They look like they are worms.

  22. Using scissors to cut noodles is good rage bait, it definitely got me

  23. ObsessiveRecognition

Why would you even want that? You’d just be eating gross cold noodles

  24. Inside-Study4546

And that will be $480, enjoy…

Your still hungry? Here’s a single scoop of ice cream, that is gold infused, that will be $180…

20 percent gratuity is minimum, did I do anything to upset you? Most people give 30-40 percent…

  25. LASERDICKMCCOOL

This would be great for keeping the gazpacho soup from burning your lips

  26. hdgrbodnd

Literally a classic example of “place, place Japan” ( except for that one avatar episode)

  27. Trans_Slime_Girl

I immediately thought it was stupid, but I would eat it ngl.

This is honestly like that one meme about things and things, Japan.

  28. catchmelackin

of course this isnt stupid, because its JaPaNeSe!!
