The quality is there but the portions leave more to be desired. I'm a regular here (miyaji) but I don't know if I'm getting my money's worth.
The positives: tons of toro, great toppings, stellar kanpachi.

I don’t understand. You didn’t provide the cost, so how can we assess whether the portions are fair or not?
SincerelySpicy
Can’t say without knowing how much this costs
Panzercats
I legitimately thought this was satire after reading the title.
peterwhitefanclub
Maybe I’m confused due to no items for scale…but they look huge?
Cigarrauuul
This seems a lot?
No_Alps7434
The portions looks perfectly fine. Too big and you can’t eat it in one bite. Don’t want that for sushi.
Character-Spinach591
Looks like fairly standard portions to me. Without knowing the cost, especially compared to similar places with similar dishes in your area, it would be hard to say if you’re getting your money’s worth.
Alternatively, if you enjoy it and are willing to pay what they’re asking for it, it sounds like you believe it’s worth the cost.
c-e-bird
Those portions honestly look amazing to me. I’m surprised you were disappointed with this.
Graybeard_Shaving
You trolling? No one on earth who knows and loves sushi would look at that and say they are skimping on the portions.
50millionFreddy
Looks standard.
wet_irrelevance
Those all look like beautiful cuts. There is a lot of fish on each nigiri.
codyzon2
You can’t see everything on the plate so I don’t know how we’re supposed to judge. There’s clearly things being hidden in the back
JuniorTheory7593
I’m paying $60 for the top portion alone. The singles are like $7/pc
Forsaken-Spot4221
This is an excellent $65 plate. Stop being a brat.
Ceilrux
I don’t know if it’s me but it looks like there’s a 3rd row with 2 types of fish and the one on the left has gold leaf. If so, you are. Most of the price of sushi is paying for the cut/type of fish and the quality.
JiovanniTheGREAT
Idk how much you paid for it but that’s like a Chef’s Special amount. The expensive, yet high quality place near me does theirs for ~$50 though they do 12 pieces of nigiri and a hand roll which I think is a similar amount of food to this.
quintonforrest
These look like healthy portions of fish. What do you want, some American super-size me portion?

“I’m a regular here but I don’t know if I’m getting my money’s worth” … sheesh
GnastyNoodlez
This would be 80 bucks at any good sushi place in San Francisco
Hua_and_Bunbun
They look really good. However, I do hope it came with a bowl of white rice, a bowl of miso soup and a small plate of salad with those orange fish eggs. My favorite sushi restaurant offers those things with any entree.
Personally I won’t let myself spend $65 on a meal that can’t fill me up. Honestly, I expect to feed 2 people with $65, even in a sushi place. At least they can give you extra soup and rice. Those cost nothing for the restaurant.
orsikbattlehammer
OP really comes on here and posts one of the most beautiful and luscious looking platter of sushi we’ve seen all here and trolls us. Damn that looks delicious
sonofbaal_tbc
no?
GrundalWizzard
Unless you paid an asinine amount of money, that looks like generous sized portions. They look fairly thick and properly shaped. It would take quite a bit of money for me to have a complaint about this
SMARTAHALIC56
Where is this? Like actual restaurant name?
StatusOmega
This plate has generous portions of fish meat and is elegantly presented. I would consider this the opposite of conservative. I don’t even understand why you would ask. This would feed my whole family and we’d probably have leftovers.
mikerz85
$65 is an incredible price for that
fleeting_moments00
17 quality piece and some of them are thick cut. For $65 is definitely worth it.
Fit_Click_581
They do appear to be right leaning
wycie100
Mfs will have it all and then ask a question like this
Downtown-Piece3669
Instructions unclear, price not listed. You had one job OP and you failed.
TheEndOfTheIdiom
Crazy crazy crazy cheap these days. Go back, give em five stars and apologize to everyone here for being a raging asshole.
