Preface: I haven’t seen or used the Joetisserie or BGE’s version that was discontinued. I also haven’t read the instruction yet.
Presentation: 10/10. Case is nice and much bigger than I thought from previous pictures. Put shears/scissors next to it for scale.
Hardware: looks solidly built. There really is no set-up. The flanges are much stronger than they looked online. Not a fan of the type C usb connection into the motor. Not sure why they did USB cable. I think a standard plug with a voltage reducer and/or AC to DC inverter on the plug or motor housing would’ve been better. Just my 2¢.
I included a short video

Bit of a gap between the seals. The lighter can almost fit between the lid and base.
Last picture is an hour into the cook. Temp has been holding at 350°ish
P.S. I know about pushing the charcoal to one side to keep it from dripping and possibly giving it a bad taste. I don’t have a divider and I was too eager to get it going. Lesson learned: tie the chicken up before putting it on the skewers.

Nice 👍🏻
I use a Big Joetisserie, and I messed up my first cook a little bit. I usually spatchcock chickens and cook at 350 over indirect heat. My first rotisserie cook, I found that was too high, and I had a bit of scorching where the bird was too close to hot coals. It still tasted really good, but it wasn’t great. Now, I stack the coals against the back of the smoker and run at 275. I tie the legs and tuck the wings up under the bird. My last couple of rotisserie birds have been really good. As with everything, it takes a couple of cooks to pick up a few tricks.
Awesome!
How did it taste? I want to grab one, but not the biggest fan of super smokey meats.
That gap in between the lid is unacceptable for $300. Sure it has a nice case, but the Joetisserie you get alot more for the money. And it sits higher so you don’t get the scorching. But good idea piling the lump against the back. As long as you are happy with it, that’s all that matters. I just think BGE could do better. Especially for the price.
The 18″ joetisserie will fit most 18″ ceramic grills. It fit my old vision “s” grill perfectly. Now I use a joe3 . And same joetisserie
