Yeah…
BBQ used to be a decent meal for working class people at a decent price.
Its turned into a monstrosity.

I’ll raise you a guy that “is nationally recognized” selling 2 small scoops of 4 week old sides and ribs over a week old for $30.

I hate those places, no offense to those people who work there, but if I go into a bbq place that has hipsters working I’m leaving, the BBQ will be expensive and not worth it at all and the portion sizes will be small and all you’ll hear from guys with man buns and glasses will talk to you about what ipa goes with the brisket and how they only eat pulled pork from a pig they’ve only tried once. Ugh

I waited 4 hours in scorching heat but it was so worth it bro. I was lucky I got last scraps of brisket and half a corn cob but it changed my life bro.

$30/lb is a steal. Franklin is $39/lb and he is not even the buzz as he used to be with the Michelin Star joints and all the crazy craft BBQ in Central TX
They are cheap fantastic options within 15 miles in every direction…

Inflation really hurt during and post covid. Prime brisket in California was like $2.99/lb? Its more like $5/$6 now… Calculate that everything else also increased in cost and $14/lb to $30/lb sounds about right for a business to sray operating.

There’s a BBQ place by me that is only open 11a-3p Friday and Saturday. 8 hours per week. People line up around the block for it. Rave about it. I’ve heard it’s the best BBQ around but I’ll never know. They’re open *eight hours per week*.
