If you had the pleasure of trying In-N-Out, what do you think of the burger on a scale from 1 to 10? This is not about the fries, just the burger. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

In the world of fast food burgers it’s probably a 10 outside of fast food probably like 6.

    It’s not bad. I’d give it a solid 7.

I’d like the patties to be more thicker. I usually get mine with 4 patties when I go to In n Out.

If they did make thicker patties I’d give em an 8.

My ideal burger is a at a local mom n pop place where they use a combination of chuck, short rib and brisket for their 1/3lb patties and they are mega juicy.

I had INO for the first and only time in June. The burger was great. Fresh veggies. Great bun perfectly toasted. Delicious patties with melted cheese. 9 / 10.

Me: As a Jersey boy who moved out to LA later in life and has been here for 20 years, I would say an 9 out of 10. For me, it’s not going to knock your socks off, but it will be consistent and delicious every time.

I’d give it a 6 or 7. Good fast food burger, but incredibly overhyped.

    8.

The meat is noticeably tastier than most other fast food burgers, and due to their customer service, they almost never get the order wrong, no matter what you ask for.

No spread, add ketchup and mustard, add pickle, yes on onions, peppers on the side for me.

6-7 but better than most other fast food burgers and the price is right.

Depends on the scale. If we are talking all fast food / fast casual burger chains, then I’d probably say like a 7 – 7.5.

If we limit it to just traditional fast food places (i.e. have a drive through, no Five Guys, no Shake Shack, etc), then I’d say it’s probably a 8.5 – 9.

If we are talking about a double cheeseburger for less than $6.00 then it’s a 9.5 – 10.

Good burger (7/10) and a great value but I would only purchase one if I could eat it on the premises. I don’t think they hold up well.

6/10. The burger is really a 4/10 but for the price it’s a 6. I’d rather spend more and get a burger I would enjoy more.

It’s a 3 on the burger scale for me.
I have it when I travel to the US a few times a year for work. But, there are tonnes of burgers that outclass it by order of magnitude.

In Australia, the burgers from McDonald’s far surpass an In-N-Out burger. But they’re also using Australian beef here.

There are burgers I’ve eaten that I could call the best burgers in the world, and if you ever come to Sydney I’ll tell you to go to a restaurant called The Gidley.

A 10/10 burger doesn’t come from a fast food chain.

5? Nothing remarkable about it. I’m told I ordered wrong, but, like… I shouldn’t have to do a special burger 😛

I live where I can eat INO often, so some of the “wow factor” isn’t there anymore for me, but I’ll absolutely say this is the best $6 burger you will find. You literally can’t find a _good_ double cheeseburger anywhere around here for that price.

The ingredients are always fresh, the taste is consistent (I’ve been to about half a dozen different INO restaurants over three different states, and the food and restaurants themselves are generally so consistent it’s like they exist in some sort of pocket dimension).

It’s definitely an above average _fast food_ burger.

9 to 9.5…….our go to burger place. fries are only a 6.

  15. squad4life

6 only because of cost. 4 if it wasn’t so cheap

    It’s a perfect burger

You get an excellent product made lightning fast, and still affordable in 2025 when corporate greed has artificially inflated fast food prices out of control.

I don’t care if shake shack is objectively a tastier Burger. It cost fucking $8 for a single patty smaller than my palm.

Burgers are not supposed to be this pretentious expensive thing. Of course a more expensive ingredient version for a burger is probably going to taste better than In-N-Out but that’s not the point.

I can get a 4×4 for $10 in California. Unbelievable.

Yes I understand in and out is not perfect when it comes to their politics, but the burger itself is still a standard I hope never goes away.

  17. It has a freshness that other burgers lack. Signature flavor of the final product of the burger is great. I say 8. Do not expect the best burger in the universe and you will like it

  18. ItsHotDownHere1

For fast food burger it’s a 10/10. Will always have an in n out burger if given the chance. In any other scenario a 7/10 where the only things that beat it would be some fancy restaurants that I’ve been too and had some amazing burgers and unfortunately it can’t beat a home made burger because I that point I make it exactly the way I enjoy having the burger.

  19. Objectively, it’s about a 6 out of 10. It’s excellent for the price, but on a pure taste level it gets blown out of the water by Shake Shack and Five Guys.

  20. pipehonker

    6.3

    Fries 2.5

Overall… Keep driving unless you like everything with that animal shit on it.

  21. Onlyplay2k

Honestly 5. It’s overhyped. Dry. Most of the flavor comes from the sauce.
