I was getting my grill installed this morning and saw this crack/chip. So disappointed. Just wanted to make sure I did the correct thing. This is my first ever smoker.

  1. That’s just surface paint. They will send touch up paint.

But your choice. You wanted a non damaged I get it.

I wonder if they sent it like that, or 40 cents in foam could have avoided it. And of course send it back. Even if they send paint, it’s still gonna look “bad” new. Maybe use this time to consider a Classic 2 with nothing to fail or melt. Ha.

Mine arrived almost exactly like that. I put in a warranty and they sent me that bottom piece. It took awhile for the piece to arrive but it was super easy to swap out.

You made the right move. Too expensive to not have it right on day one. I refuse to do warranty claims or touch ups on something I’ve haven’t even used yet.

If you kept it, it would’ve always bothered you.

Who did you buy it from and did they take it back?

I’m guessing it’s not paint. It’s glaze, so it won’t look right even if they send you touch-up paint.
