I've been growing these two plants indoors under a grow light for the past couple of months. While most of my plants and herbs make it easy on me by dying a month in, these ones had the audacity to stick around. The jalapeno had already grown and dropped flowers once, and is just now flowering again. The cayenne's just chilling and looking like a palm tree. Clearly it's way past time to upgrade to bigger pots – maybe the smaller jalapeno can stay in the current pot for now. I don't have a yard or a sun-facing window that gets good enough light, so I have to keep them indoors for now. When I move in a few months, I'll be able to keep them outside.

I've mostly been leaving them to do their own thing, besides some light pruning in the first couple of months. Mostly because I don't really know what I'm doing and am seeing a lot or conflicting advice online. I'd appreciate any advice on the next steps.

1- Any advice for how I should be pruning these guys?
2- How bad would it be if I buried a few inches of stem on the cayenne when repotting it to hide some of that legginess?

Thanks!

Pruning only stunts the growth, better is picking the early flowers. The plant i picked the early flowers has grown quite massive.

The buried stem will produce roots. Recommend

  3. I’ve heard you can have a fan blow gently on the peppers to simulate wind to stimulate stem growth, havent had opportunity to try it out myself though

  4. Give them a few pinches of coffee grounds for a boost of nitrogen.
