  1. I just planted some elephant garlic, those things want to grow! In four weeks the stems are like an iPhone high

  2. I added in prehistoric kale, scarlet runner beans and a giant sunflower (3rd time lucky?). The Jerusalem artichokes are established and growing.
Unfortunately… last summer they added a highrise to the skyline. It's blocking out the tail end of the afternoon sun. So I've suddenly gone from 4-6h to more like 3, if I'm being generous. Sigh. Fall has arrived early. It'll be a matter of nursing things along so I can harvest something…
Roasted brussel sprouts are the best.

  3. No, seriously I would grow (if I could):
    – At least 3 different types of tomatoes
    – 1-2 types of (yellow) potatoes
    – Paprika, long and pointy (tastes better than bell pepper)
    – Pimientos de padron (lil paprika for frying)
    – some cucumbers for salad and some for pickles
    – Savoy cabbage
    – Kale
    – White cabbage
    – Red cabbage
    – Kimchi cabbage (we call it "china cabbage")
    – Radieschen (lil red turnips)
    – Horse radish
    – Sugar peas
    – Kidney beans
    – White beans (small and giant)
    – Green beans (thin, long and the broad variety)
    – Sweet corn
    – Popcorn
    – Asparagus
    – Scotch Bonnet Chilies
    – Herbs and spices (summer savory, oregano, rosemary and many more)
    – Pink garlic (smoother than the white one)
    – Onions (big and small)
    – celery (both)

    – Raspberries
    – Blueberries
    – Strawberries
    – Figs
    – Bananas
    – Pineapple
    – Dragon fruit
    – 2-3 types of melon
    – Hokkaido
    – Oil seed pumpkin (seeds have no shell. Good for oil, baking and snacking)

Could go on for hours 😂
