I love my stomache and recently tried this pesto. I really love it, but if any of you tried it, can you please share your honest opinion? (Unfortunately I couldn’t try Italian cousine but plan to have a food tour in winter)

Thanks!

What do you mean by “I love my stomache [sic]”

    Not sure what you’re asking.

jarred pesto are usually not that good.

you use it with pasta or even on toast.

  3. ricotta e noci is good, but aldi products are trash imo, i mean like eurospin or many lidl products are just cheap brand copies.

for example at eurospin, the original brand is mulino bianco, they made “i tre mulini” where the food inside have the same taste of the cardboard box of the same product lmao

If you like it, why do you need anyone confirming it for you? Just enjoy it and live your life how you like it.

Is this a limited specialty item? I’ve only ever seen the Priano brand pesto before (and thought it was terrible).

In Italy, this is considered low quality sauce.

If you like it, good for you.

I took one made with sun-dried tomatoes recently, that one is good, even the normal one is not bad even if sometimes I struggle to digest it

cannot tell without tasting this specific brand, but ricotta e noci is quite a classic, i thoroughly enjoy it

It looks delicious, I’d love to try it

If its less than 2 euros its fine because its probably 100% seed oil and cashews

It would not be as good as a pesto you’d make from scratch, but if you and your family enjoy this product, why would you need approval from strangers on here?

I have never seen brown pesto, is it because of the nuts? I would love to try a recipe if anyone got one

In Italy it’s not considered so good ( not the taste but the quality) and also Aldi it’s like Lidl, not a discount but a middle class supermarket with Good quality. Leaving this aside, the ricotta and walnut pesto is quite good, consider that pesto can be made with a bit of everything, even though the original one uses basil, cheese and pine nuts, for example I make it with wild dandelion ( the plant not the flower). If you like it then eat it w/o any problem

dunno about this specific product, pesto ricotta e noci is Sicily’s pesto variant, it’s actually dried tomatoes, ricotta and walnut, make it at home it’s easy.

Why on earth buy a ready-made pesto filled with whatever additives and poor produce? It’s the easiest sauce in the world to make yourself.

    Come in people…have some dignity.

  16. That’s a ricotta and walnuts “sauce”, not even remotely a “pesto”.

Leaving that aside, assuming it tastes good and you liked ti, go for it!

  17. You can make it from raw ingredients and it will be better or a least interesting. Where are you now?

Post the ingredients, otherwise how can I tell?

Ricotta e noce is the easiest tasty store bought sauce you can get. Whether its high end or lower it’ll still be super tasty and umami.

That being said quality is a different matter. Check if the ingredients are generic oils or olive oil. Specific cheese like ricotta and parmigiano or generic cheese. And of course conservatives etc…
