They could have easily painted the prices on. That’s how you know they’ll just keep raising it up without telling you

  2. brighteyescafe

Sigh 😞 no prices is such an annoying thing

  3. chuckgnomington

The cheese is under the sauce (the prices are listed inside)

Vanilla … Chocolate … No swirl?? is the menu deceiving or this the Freeze canon or something (I’m relatively new here) or did the buck stop at a machine with one more handle?

  5. NoSelection1050

The prices are on the menu next to the ordering window. This is just a mural that shows what they have.

  6. Go down the street to red hot ranch it’s much better

so it’s the same shit as the bucktown one ice cream wise? they’re just keeping the freeze sign? dumb.

the concretes are good and well mixed with the toppings but i was hoping for some extra shit for this location

  8. Everyone in this thread is so mad lol. I live in the neighborhood and I’m looking forward to going. I haven’t seen all these ice cream options at other locations.

They have alot of nerve doing this with no prices, with another location close by and Red hot ranch down the street. Hope they rot and get left behind.

  10. all i’m gonna say is LOL, what a change-up from the post a few days ago that got deleted. no hate to Hogsalt. but LOL, sometimes you forget that there’s 152k people in this subreddit and a majority of them do not live in Logan Square.

  11. I’m not a fan of their burgers anymore and this is so close to RHR, but their ice cream is pretty good and I was actually surprised at how low the prices were (small/kids cone $2.99). Concrete was like $8. Basically in line with DQ.

Might as well put Market Price next to everything now. Restaurants love this one simple trick!

I conducted a blind taste test between Culver’s deluxe butter burger with a small cheval equivalent.

Culver’s unanimously won, and was 1/2 the price when you have add the bacon.

    Fuck small cheval.

I tried to go this week. 40 fuckin people waiting. I miss the freeze dearly. It was such a melting pot of Chicago.

But my personal favorite slop shop burger is objectively better and makes me morally superior

  16. dabhought

This fuckin place is not worth the money. Went there last Christmas after ice skating and it’s so average. I’ve had better burgers from a random bar and grill in Indiana

  17. I like how transplants pretend tastee freeze was an institution when it spent decades barely making enough to stay open.

  18. I assume they didn’t paint on the prices in case they increase or decrease prices in the future.

  19. Place is washed. Got bought by private equity and quality went to shit.

This might be a hot take but their fried chicken is excellent and wasn’t horribly priced at their Lincoln square location. Their ice cream prices were fucking abysmal though considering the local competition.

Love all the hate for a Chicago based brand. Could have had someone else buy the lot (the owner was selling) where the freeze stood and turned it into condos. But instead we have a burger spot that serves ice cream. Shame on them.

  22. Theatre_throw

No pistachio soft serve and no hot dogs = no point.

  23. Reasonable_Loquat874

This thread is pure ragebait. The prices are clearly displayed inside the restaurant.

  24. Temporary_Deal_7502

Their fried chicken sandwich is better than their burger, imo

  25. Empty-Translator7192

Doesnt city of chicago require prices be prominently posted on menus and at checkout?

  26. IUchicago

its crazy they stopped putting up prices… at a fast food burger shop of all places…

  27. tomdoe12345

2 blocks away you’ll get a good if not better burger for nearly half the price.
