🍯🥃 Maple Bourbon Pork Chops
Ingredients (serves 4)
4 pork loin pork chops (bone-in or boneless, about 1-inch thick)
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp smoked paprika (optional, for a smoky flavor)
For the Maple Bourbon Glaze:
½ cup bourbon
½ cup pure maple syrup
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
Instructions
Prep the Pork Chops
Pat pork chops dry with paper towels.
Season both sides with salt, and pepper.
Sear the Pork Chops
Heat olive oil in a large skillet (cast iron works great) over medium-high heat.
Sear pork chops for about 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
Remove pork chops and set aside (they’ll finish cooking in the glaze).
Make the Maple Bourbon Glaze
In the same skillet, add garlic and simmer until fragrant. Add bourbon and let it simmer for 1–2 minutes to cook off some alcohol.
Stir in maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon, vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if desired).Simmer for 4–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Finish the Pork Chops
Return pork chops to the skillet, spoon glaze over the top, and cook for another 4–6 minutes (depending on thickness), until internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
Serve
Plate pork chops and spoon extra glaze on top.
Great with roasted sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, or sautéed green beans.
