About 50 bucks. *edit thank you to the kind person who gave me an award 🙂

    Instagrammability.

Believe it or not, to a lot of people, it is even more important than the actual taste of a meal.

I’d hazard a guess that the fire chars the cheese a bit. And that this would cost about $50 USD plus a compulsory 30% tip to the poor underpaid server (ridiculous system not many other countries have)

A good looking smash burger ruined by processed cheese glop

  5. Caramelizes the cheese lightly and burns off the alcohol, intensifying sub notes of the spirit. This may be a play on Saganaki, which is a Greek cheese flambé technique.

Edit to add: It does also lightly caramelize the residual sugars in the spirit, if any.

Edit correction: intensify vs leave behind

Burgers that you can’t eat with just your hands shouldn’t exist

This seems like a really good way to start an accidental building fire.

That’s a lawsuit waiting to happen

I’m guessing $20-$30 extra on the bill.

  10. That’s fun and all but how am I suppose to pick up the burger to eat it? My options are picking it up with my hand and getting them covered in melted cheese or eating it with a fork and knife?

Not worth the $60 they’re going to charge me.

Paying for the aesthetic with this one, and its executed well so it looks pretty cool.
Same vibes as paying out the noise for hibachi.

I’ll take this. I own a restaurant. Our jobs are to make people happy while making money. Is a bartender joking with you stupid? No. You going to Chuckie Cheese without the ballpit? No. It’s the restaurants job to be entertaining. Many restaurants achieve this is very diffent ways. It makes dining out an experience.

Edit: also I forgot I am old. People love to Instagram this stuff. More advertising for the restaurant. I mean you saw it on social media right?

  13. Oh, the fire… It’s the tried and true “secret sauce” that inspires people to order a shit item purely for internet clout.

Holy fuck, the amount of chips! Nowhere that I go nowadays gives you that many chips.

  15. Seen this burger before on here, and i still don’t get the appeal. Is this some kind of fancy burger you gotta eat with a knife and fork or do they provide a few wet towels to clean your hand and face afterwards. What’s the point of the melted cheese on the burger? The flambee thing is clearly just for looks. I refused to believe melted cheez whizz is improved by burning alcohol.

I don’t know the scientific explanation, but fire made it good.

The fire adds a way for the insurance company to deny a claim or coverage for the inevitable structure fire one of these burgers is going to cause

You get hot knife. It’s a Fiona Apple tribute

Presentation, which is an important part of food. Flambe as a whole is largely just for show (debatable), but this is absolutely not something i would want served to me. I prefer my burgers without the chukkake

Lol I love all the comments of people saying eating this with a fork n knife???? Like is that seriously necessary. Are people scared of getting a little messy?? Are we eating ribs and chicken with a fork n knife?? Are we afraid others will judge with their eyes lmao, I mean come on
