OSHKOSH – With the end of August fast approaching, the best summer weather may already be behind us.
But fall brings its own appeal, with milder temperatures, fewer bugs (hopefully!) and some colorful trees. And area residents don’t have to give up outdoor summer dining options like patios just yet.
Northwestern readers listed no fewer than six Oshkosh restaurants for great outdoor dining during the warm months, with Fox River Brewing Company at 1501 Arboretum Drive leading the way.
Citing its colorful tables, dockside location and the ability to “seat yourself,” Fox River Brewing Company received a handful of votes in the newspaper’s most recent callout.
Northwestern readers also showed love for popular spots like TJ’s Harbor Restaurant, South Side Ice Yacht Club, Fin ‘n’ Feather, Rhapsodies, and Ardy and Ed’s.
Here’s what readers had to say about eating outdoors in Oshkosh.

Fox River Brewing Company is an Oshkosh favorite during the summer due to the scenery by the water and its colorful outdoor seating.
Fatima Muniz voted for Fox River Brewing Company, too
Fatima Muniz’s take: “I couldn’t help but think of the Fox River Brewing Company. It’s such a gem! I absolutely adore the scenery by the water, and it’s so cool that people can arrive by boat and dock right there to eat.
“The ‘seat yourself’ idea is enjoyable, and the colorful tables and umbrellas make the whole place feel inviting. I was there this past weekend for Mother’s Day, and it was lovely to see all the families enjoying themselves. There were kids happily playing on that big chair they have outside, and it created such a joyful atmosphere!
“After a day in the sun, nothing beats cooling off with dinner by the water. And let me tell you, the food is amazing! I always find something new to try each time I go.
“In the summertime, whenever friends or family want to go out for a bite, I’m always advocating for the Fox River Brewing Company. It’s a charming, laid-back spot with a range of dishes that can satisfy any craving. Plus, the staff are super friendly and know how to care for their guests well!
“There’s no rush to get up and leave after your meal, which makes it such a cozy spot! It’s definitely the perfect place to gather with family and friends, relax, and enjoy some good conversations.”
