Hey all! I’m a returning customer with hello fresh, I had to cancel a long while back for financial reasons. But we’re back on it now and forgot how much we missed it. Biggest thing I was excited about was that the nutritional facts per serving are ready to go with each meal. As a type 1 diabetic this is a huge benefit to not have to guesstimate or manually weigh out all of my food to get insulin dosing correct prior to each meal. However, I’ve noticed that they seem to be WAY higher than it should be per serving and it’s caused me to have some pretty severe low blood sugar readings. This was a big draw for coming back to hello fresh was being able to have at least one meal a day be a little more thoughtless and I’m finding it frustrating given it’s literally a life or death game as a T1. I’m wondering if anyone else has noticed this, I saw one post from quite a while ago and the user seems to be MIA now anyways. Is it just the carb counts that are off? We’re getting portions for three and most of it has been coming in for four people, yet we’re splitting it into threes, so I am likely eating more than what it’s claiming it is per serving and still having this issue. Anyone have any suggestions or am I just somehow doing it wrong?

Also adding that trying to count my carbs out myself is a little difficult when it’s hard to gauge prepackaged dressings like bbq sauce, and pickled onions that sat in pineapple juice. Do they offer a better breakdown of the carbs on their website anywhere instead of this snapshot nutrition tag on the recipe cards?
My child is T1D and sometimes the carb counts seem a bit high so I dose less. I swag most of her food and have gotten pretty good at it tho lol. I also will split the dose if it seems like it will be a later hit on her blood sugar because of fat and/or protien
I would not trust them because they don’t correctly portion anything anyhow. Not safe for you.
