I'm willing to go anywhere in the 5 boroughs. Looking to drink some java, dip my sandwich in soup and chill out to Norah Jones. It's this type of vibe from the 90s if you're not familiar: https://aesthetics.fandom.com/wiki/Global_Village_Coffeehouse

I miss Grounded on Jane St. in the W. Village. That place was 1000% that vibe.

  4. Chaotic Good on UWS gets close. No hot food but you can bring your own

NewsBar on University Place. I haven’t been in a few years but this def used to fit that vibe, even down to the music.

hide and seek in greenpoint might fit your vibe perfectly. spacious, eclectic, and they serve food.

  7. Not ~quite~ that aesthetic, but Good Enough to Eat on the UWS has a very warm, homey vibe with multi grain pancakes and chili with brown rice on the menu, and a lot of plants and bricks and shelves and glass art on the walls.

Also, there’s still a Cosí in Jersey City, which always felt very GVC culture-outside-of-culture to me.
