Hey everyone, my first post here 🙂

Im sure by now the community is well aware of Bertie's, however, I'd still love to share my most recent pick up from Trinidad.

Got this large bottle while visiting friends and family there. Probably my favourite pepper sauce when comes to grocery bought, yet does have a homemade taste and feel to it.

Has a uniformed consistency and is bit on the chunky side as far as texture goes. The heat grading system is bang on rated at 3/5, as I do find the spice level right down the middle of the road.

Not overwhelmingly hot though packs a good hit, leaving a light sting on the tongue. Slightly enhances overall food flavour, but adds a decent amount of heat.

Please feel free to share some recommendations as well. Anything close to Berties Original would be right up my alley!

Cheers!

A friend of mine gave me a bottle of that a couple years ago. It’s fantastic.

Matouk’s Calypso is one of my favorites, also from Trinidad & Tobago. It’s a Caribbean mustard style & scotch bonnet sauce, but it has a great flavor, decent heat, and it’s kind of a thick consistency like ketchup, so it works great as a dipping sauce.

I love this sauce! If anyone has a household member that can’t handle spice, Bertie’s makes a no spice version of this sauce with I think Poblano peppers, but it still has the vinegar and salt hits. It’s surprisingly great.
