Anyone else leave the line cook life for the baker life?
I’m getting paid less but God do I love waking up early and leaving when the sun in still in the sky.

I get it. You were bready to move on. It must be nice to rise before the sun. The unfortunate part about leaving the kitchen is less people have a rye sense of humor.

I’m not in baking but I wake up at 3 am, get to work at 4 am, get to leave at about noon. Not too bad once you get used to it.

I love, love, love baking, but I hate the hours. I’ve tried a couple of bakery jobs, and I could not get around the hours.

I left the line cook life for the college kitchen-corporate dining life. All the paid holidays off, extended holiday breaks.

Both 💁♀️ been a baker for 12 years as my full time job, then restaurants by night. Baking is a different kind of hard but I love it. Except for I get sleepy by 7pm and wake up at 5 or earlier on my days off
