There's not much better way to celebrate a wedding that opening up some vintage and non-vintage Champagne!
From the wonderful 2008 vintage, we were fortunate to have representatives from Louis Roederer, Billecart Salmon, Krug, and Dom Perignon, and from 2011 Michel Foch.
The '08 Cristal was a mixture of beautiful white flowers, brioche, with white fruit, and a great chalky minearlity on the seemingly endless finish. Hard not to consider this the best Champagne I've ever tasted.
The '08 Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart had great notes of marzipan citrus peel, and stone fruit, with a beautiful tension on the palate with its long finish.
The '08 Krug was filled with lime, hazelnut, stone, and pear fruit. An incredibly fresh and precise wine that could do even better with more time.
The '08 Dom Perignon was filled with bright fruit, nutty, concentrated, and some nice minearlity to finish. The least of our favorites of the '08s, but still a great bottle from the vintage.
Last but not least the '11 Michel Foch Late Disgorged Blanc de Blancs (by way of Walt Wines). A beautiful hazelnut almond nose, with great lime and green apple on the palate.
Representing NV, we have some classics, along with a lesser-known grower-producer Champagne.
The Krug 169eme is a special bottle for us. A brilliant bottle with beautiful brioche, high acid, and a creamy texture, with some stone fruit and citrus oil to boot.
The Billecart Salmon Blanc de Blancs is a classic. Clean, citrus and pear, with some brioche.
The Laherte Freres Extra Brut Ultradition Champagne is a wonderful high Pinot Meunier Champagne. Incredibly bright, with lemon, green apples, with some white floral and stone fruit notes.
Great Champagne that was great for celebration.
Cheers!

Cristal 2008 is a great choice for wedding champagne. It is only surpassed by the best vintages from salon.
