Ahh, ok so cheddar is indeed a popular option. The judges will also accept Swiss, American cheese, Colby Jack, and are especially fond of provolone.

That’s a no from me, dawg. Cheddar doesn’t melt well and it cools, it hardens. American is the cheese for a burger. I love cheddar on a sandwich and conversely, American cheese would be a sin on a sandwich. Its main feature is that it melts really well.
