CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A Charlotte-based pet food company recalled two lots of dog and cat food for salmonella and listeria monocytogenes contamination.
The Viva Raw recall was announced on Monday, Aug. 25. It applies to lots 21495 (Viva Ground Beef for Dogs, and Viva Beef & Turkey for Puppies) 21975 (Viva Ground Chicken for Dogs, Viva Chunked Chicken for Dogs, Viva Chicken for Cats, and Viva Pure Chicken).
The food was distributed in 1-pound bricks in clear, vacuum packaging.

The lots were distributed between July 2 and Aug. 21, 2025, to customers nationwide and in stores in NY, IL, SC, FL, KS, CA, and AZ.
Anyone with the affected food should email Viva Raw at info@vivarawpets.com for a refund for remaining product, and dispose of the food in a way that other living beings can’t access it.
