More tomato pictures.

At this point I think it’s fair to admit I’ve gone fully tomato-mad. The kind of mad where you start writing tomato reviews. Some are tragic, some are melodramatic, and some… well, some are just me over-caffeinated and yelling at fruit.

And no, I am definitely not already planning next year’s varieties. I have absolutely not recruited others into my tomato cult and started collecting their preferences so I can curate personalised seed lists.

That would be ridiculous.

  1. No such thing. Source: I grow more than that, and others grow more than me. We eat as many as we can while they’re good and then stew and sauce the rest before they go bad. I keep telling my self I don’t need 20 tomato plants but there are too many varieties to try.

If you are taking pictures of your tomatoes you don’t have too many

Spread the love among your friends/family. Jam/sauce the rest.

I get about these many tomatoes every week and just as many chili peppers, green beans, cucumbers. So I made Sunday morning the “share the love” day.. 🙂

Slice, salt litely, spritz with Olive Oil. Dry in a 200/250 degree oven. When mostly dry, but still bendable Freeze. Good on pizza,in omelettes, stew for a sauce. Many other uses and they take up very little space in the Freezer. Basically a hack for “Sun dried tomatoes” Done correctly, you can get out just the amount you need. Hthelps

  7. Was going to say, either spread the joy like another commenter mentioned, or make some extra 💵 with those. I’m never against a little entrepreneurial spirit, but either way: good job!

I have placed 3 gallons of ripe Big Beef, Old German and Black Krim in the freezer so far, and it’s still early. Probably going to have another 10-12 gallons by the time I’m done. I still have Gladiator and Jersey Devils to ripen. I put in 30 plants this year but about ten are cherry tomatoes.
