Plans have been unveiled for a new ’boutique’ restaurant in Chester city centre that promises a ‘Mediterranean vibe’. The new venue is earmarked for 60 Watergate Street.
A premises licence application has been submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council by Clayfield Yilmaz Limited. In it, the applicant states that the eatery will trade as OHA Mediterranean Restaurant Tapas & Bar.
The application states: “Boutique Ala carte restaurant upstairs, tapas bar downstairs and alfresco area to be used. Warm Mediterranean vibe with relaxed atmosphere.” It adds that the proposed opening hours are 9am until 12.30am daily.

The Watergate Street property has been marketed for let on Rightmove. The listing states: “The property comprises one half of a former double showroom unit with stairs leading to a raised sales area and rear sales and storage areas.
“There is internal access to a basement/cellar area which could be modernised to provide further useable space, if required.” Public consultation over the premises licence application runs until August 27.
