Seaside memories on a cake – for my husband’s birthday!!


Tried something really close to my heart this time 💙🌊
I baked this cake for my husband, and the theme was inspired by a special place we visited together – the beach. 🐚✨

I came across the first picture online and used it as my inspiration. The second picture is my version of it. Honestly, I didn’t think I’d be able to pull this off since this is only my second cake with frosting! I played around with a different shade of blue and added my own touches, and I’m so happy with how it turned out. 🥹💖

    This is so gorgeous, what did you use to make the seashells? I don’t know where you’re based, but in the UK we have these chocolates called Guylians which are seashell shaped and would be just perfect for something like this

    Food at its absolute best is about memory, creating a memory or conjuring up old memories. And you can tell when something is made with love and affection. Cuts right through everything and makes a person feel loved and cared for. Way to go.

    Beautiful cake. Can I give a suggestion though? The shells and starfish get a little lost in your sea foam effect because they’re white on white. If you added a little edible pearl dust or a tiny dash of colour to the shells and starfish they would pop without taking away from the background.

    Just a suggestion. It looks amazing as is too.
