Jumeirah Village Triangle isn’t exactly the first place you’d expect to find a glitzy Mediterranean newcomer, but that’s all about to change this October with the arrival of Orilla.

Orilla (which means “shore” in Spanish) comes from chef Saradhi Dakara, who’s cooked his way around the world and at MAINE Group before deciding it’s time to launch his own spot.

The whole idea is a love letter to the Mediterranean way of life – long lunches, plenty of sharing plates, golden-hour drinks and dinners that don’t stop when the clock hits midnight.

Inside, it’s coastal-chic with a Dubai twist: think laid-back but still a little glam. Basically, the kind of place you can hit for a breezy lunch or roll into for a buzzy dinner that accidentally becomes a late night.

But don’t picture stiff white tablecloths or hushed fine dining. Orilla is going big on casual-luxe vibes.

While the full menu is still under wraps, expect fresh seafood, plates built for sharing and Asian-leaning details that nod to the chef’s roots. If you’re already picturing grilled fish, colourful ceviches and a pasta or two, you’re on the right track.

So yes, JVT will soon be on the dining map.

Opening in October. Jumeirah Village Triangle, orillarestaurant.com.
