[Music] Hi guys, this is Val and welcome back for another video. Welcome back to the channel. So, what I’m going to be doing today, I’m going to do some sweet potato salad. Sweet potato salad. Yes. So, here are all my lovely ingredients. I have my potatoes that I’ve washed. I have my eggs. I’m going to be putting the eggs just because I wanted to give the salad a little lift, you know, a little more volume. Yeah. And I have skeleion, onion, sweet pepper, garlic. I have some mixed vegetables. I’m going to be using, you can use anything of your choice you want to use in a potato salad. I also have some mayonnaise. We need black pepper, but we have to flavor food proper, you know. We need salt to cook our potato to give a little taste. We have to have a little vinegar. Vinegar. Yes. And I need some sugar. So, I’m going to show you how I’m going to put my nice sweet potato salad together. All right. First, I’m going to peel my potatoes because I have the water over there on the stove. Right. [Music] Hey, hey, hey. So, I’m peeling my potatoes. I’m using about 1 and 12 pound. Yes. So, yeah. Not a lot. But, you know, if you’re making for more people, you use the amount that you know would fit for the occasion and amount of people. Yeah. and just use this waste kind of dice them up and you can just rest them. That’s it. I want them a certain size, you know, and just rest them in some water. You don’t want it to change color. You do something you can’t even get away from that sit nice. I put a little bit in the water just to let it oxidize or turn down a lot. [Music] Potato salad. Nice. I did a sweet a bread fruit salad. Oh my goodness. We get nearly 30k over 20k views. Mhm. People love that bread fruit salad. About a year ago, I did it. It’s so And it tastes really good. [Music] really really [Music] [Music] have some dark streak on the potato kind of go down go down, you know, a little [Music] wash the eggs. Show you the eggs. Wash them cuz I’m going to be putting them in the pot with the potato. So, we have to wash them and cook them with the potato. Yeah. So, let me get this together. Yes. So, this is the water for the potato. I use about a teaspoon of salt just to flavor the potato. I know is not ital personal person guys. You have to cook with a little salt you know if you’re person if you’re an idle person you know you know you cook with salt but for me give food a little the salt just bring up everything nicely you know that way. So, we wash our eggs. Wash my eggs. So, I’m just going to place it. Let it cook the potatoes. Going to put the potatoes in the egg for about 10 to 15 minutes or till it cook. You can test it before you turn off the stove. So, the garlic that I’m going to be using. Should have put it in, but I’m putting it now, you know, in the pot with the potatoes. We just want nice flavor cuz I don’t like the garlic fl the raw garlic flavor in the potato salad. You know, you can gr the garlic, you know, but I just like it when you cook. Just want the flavor. I don’t want the garlic taste, raw garlic taste. But if you like it that way, if you like it that way, do it in the garlic, you know. I’m going to do the onion and the skeleion. For me, I just going to cook it in the potato. My scallion. I’m going to be giving them some nice chops. Nice little meat chops. Try to get them as even as possible. You know, them look uniform. Yeah. Use [Music] most of the green part. We got to get some more green parts. [Music] I’m going to grate my onion. I don’t want the onion taste. Cracking onion in my mouth now. So I grater I gren the onion. Everything is already wash. All right. Everything nicely. So I’m going to give these potato these sweet peppers some nice small chops dices at least. Anything [Music] you like, you know, y’all, anything you like, you just use it in your potato salad. Two potato salad. Yeah, man. Enjoy your dish more. [Music] Just use what you love. All right. [Music] My onion too much cuz we don’t garlic garlic scion flavor. Nice. Nice little flavor. Need to put it aside, you know. It’s nice. See potato. Yeah. All right. Can my head right here. It’s this one now. I am going to put my potato in the fridge. Let it cool. You cannot dress it when it’s hot. You can’t you cannot dress your potato when it’s hot. So you have to put it let it cool. All right. Pretty though nice. Yeah. See the garlic now? the garlic cook so you won’t taste this raw garlic flavor taste. Just a nice potato salad, you know. The garlic just give the potato salad a nice taste. Yeah. So, that is the reason why I cook it with the garlic. So, I’m just going to rest it in the refrigerator, let it cool down, and prepare my the rest of my stuff. All right. The egg is not a must. You understand? Do my potato salad all the time without using eggs. But something you want a different flavor. You know, you want something different. You don’t want just a regular potato salad. So that’s the reason why I put the eggs. But you can do it with switch holder. All right. All right. So, let me show you the sizes that I want to to um cut my cut my eggs in some nice little sizes. All right. So, Can I use a yolk alone, you know, Guys, you can use the egg white alone, you know, depends on your liking. So, just do whatever you know you love and what you enjoy. All right. So, the potato is half cool. But what I’m going to be doing, I’m going to put some sugar. I’m going to use some sugar. So, I’m just going to let it the sugar kind of melt cuz it’s not the real refined white sugar. is a dark sugar like this. And we’re not using too much. All right. Just less than a tablespoon. All right. Even it come like it’s about like a teaspoon. You don’t want nothing too sweet. You just want the right flavor. So, I’m going to rest it back in the refrigerator [Music] and let the sugar dissolve properly cuz it kind of warm still. Yes, the potatoes are kind of warm. So, give it time to dissolve. All right. All right. So, it’s cool properly. All right. And kind of put the sugar before it cool down properly because you want the sugar kind of dissolve. You don’t want sugar grains. All right. So, I’m using some mixed vegetables. Let me tell you already guys. You know, I’m always emphasize when you’re cooking, you use what you use what you like. Okay. Yeah, man. Use what you like. the heads. Some sweet pepper. Some onion. Some scallion. Some Yeah. [Music] So, we need this is a tablespoon. So, I’m going to use about one, two, three. I want it nice and creamy. You understand? Nice and creamy. Super delicious. All right. We need a little vinegar. I’m using about two t two teaspoon of vinegar. Good. All right. We need some black pepper. As we tell you again, season to your liking, what you love, just do what you love, right? I’m kind of crush the potatoes a little. Not too much. And we’re not doing mashed potato, but we don’t want them stand up too much at the same time in our dish. All right. And if you feel like when you’re done and the salad is not creamy enough, you can put some more put some more milk. Mhm. Right. We’re going to taste because I didn’t cook cook the potatoes with a lot of salt. You understand? We can always add salt in preparing our meals, but you cannot take away the salt. Okay. So this point now can taste and see if it want a little salt or so. Mhm. [Music] Just a little sprinkle. And you know the sal food in all the sales so good at the same time.
