Absurdly expensive. I can get these at the local Indian grocer for so cheap they just throw in the few I buy for free with my other stuff.

It’s cheaper at Asian markets

Yes, everyone. I get that this is expensive for these kinds of peppers. The joke was that I wouldn’t even know how to eat that much before they went bad.

I have a Thai chili bush outside my pool that easily grows a 1 gallon ziplock every 2 weeks. I give them away we grow so many.

Are these the official name for these peppers? I’ve been trying to figure it out for a while now. My coworker have some growing at the job. I picked them all the time.

I would probably use 20 and then the rest would get moldy

Just do it.

I know nothing about the prices, but I’d be tempted too if I saw that. I’d probably put Ziplock baggie gift packages together for friends and coworkers, eat a few dozen fresh, puree a bunch into a sauce and then experiment with adding things to it to make a nice rice dish with it, and dice and freeze the rest to add to various dishes.

Outrageously overpriced. I just paid $30 for 18lbs of ghost peppers, and $12 for 16lbs of Thai peppers. Presently fermenting.

I get these at the farmers market for $4 for a huge bag I can’t even use all of in a week

Dehydrated, this would make just about enough red pepper flakes to last my family for a year. Fwiw, these varieties typically have fantastic yield per plant, to the point that putting two or three plants in 5 gallon containers on a patio can supply you for a year.

$100? Seems a bit steep?
