Looks good to me. The only time I’ve really felt turnips are inedible is when they are much smaller and tougher, you could probably eat every bit of that plant except where the greens connect to the root assuming you wash it. As the other commenter said mashing is probably the right play if you’re worried about taste or texture, but it would be a shame to waste.

That’s a fine size for a turnip. Peel, cube, boil, and mash.

One year I grew King Beet; he weighed in at 12.5 pounds and was more than 17” around. We ate from King Beet for six months.
