WASHINGTON, D.C. (7News) — Shoppers Food announced it will close four Maryland locations on or before Oct. 11 as part of a broader effort to streamline operations.
The stores that are set to close are:
1200 Eastern Blvd., Essex7790 Riverdale Rd., New Carrollton1170 W. Smallwood Drive, Waldorf551 Jermor Lane, Westminister

According to United Natural Food Inc., a wholesaler for the grocery store chain, it continually reviews its footprint to make sure stores are opening effectively and efficiently, which can include both new investments and closures.
“We are deeply grateful to our team members for their contributions and will support them through this transition,” UNFI said in a statement.
The company added that it remains committed to serving communities through other nearby stores and its online delivery services.
