Basically I own a Weber Pulse 2000 and needed to clean some hardened fat and burnings from the bowl liner. I used some pretty strong oven/pot cleaner and now it looks like this.
Is it safe to use it in the grill? I'm concerned if it might release any nasty stuff in the food once it gets heated.

  1. I would still use it. As long as you wash it off and it’s not off-gasing you should be fine. If you’re concerned maybe bake it for a bit

  2. Just run it for at least 15/20 mins with nothing on it and the lid down at full power , open the lid every 5 mins if you’re worried and spritz with water … steam will clean most… nothing bad will survive 20 mins of high heat.. and if very cautious … do the same.. spritz heavy after 20mins of heating and then allow to cool for 10min and then wipe out everything ..

I’m worried the metal coating might be damaged and could release toxic gas into the food.
