Kunafa with Nuts ๐Ÿฅฎโœจ

๐Ÿ“Œ Syrup Recipe:

๐Ÿ“Ingredients:

2 cups sugar

1 cup water

1 lemon juice

1 tsp vanilla extract or powder

๐Ÿ“ Method:

1. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.

2. Once it starts boiling, add lemon juice and reduce heat to low. Let it simmer for 8โ€“10 minutes until slightly thickened.

3. Turn off the heat and add vanilla .

4. Let it cool completely before pouring over the Kunafa.

Prepare the pastry : place the shredded kunafa pastry in a large bowl gently rub the kunafa strands with your fingers before adding any ingredients to avoid clumps pour the melted ghee or butter over it and rub gently with your hands to coat all strands add the powdered sugar and rub gently to coat all strands Assemble : Grease a baking tray and spread half the pastry evenly at the bottom Feel free to add your favorite nuts , I went with crushed peanuts , shredded coconuts , and raisins Sadly , the part where i added the nuts didn’t get recorded ( yes I`m still upset about it ) Add the other half of pastry on top and press again lightly Preheat the oven to 180 degree C ( 350 degree F) Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden and crispy once the edges are golden , switch off the heat and use the oven grill to give the top a golden color for couple minutes once it`s baked , immediately pour the cooled sugar syrup evenly over the hot kunafa Let it soak for at least 15 minutes before cutting and serving If you prefer the kunafa to be soft , cover it right after adding the syrup , i`ll leave the syrup recipe and method in the description box Serve plain or top with your favorite nuts Enjoy !!!
