If one enjoys lamb more than pork, certainly.

  2. Mastiffmory

Well I will find out! I always rotisserie lamb on the grill. I need to try this!

Different strokes for different folks. If I had to choose one, I’d go pork. More versatile imo. But if both were on front of me I’d pick lamb because I love it.

Well I’m about to find out… You just smoke a lamb shoulder? What internal temp did you shoot for? Same as pork?

Lamb is awesome. Main word that always comes to mind is succulent. Other than lamb chops for a quick mid rare, I haven’t really smoked-ah-lamb before. These pictures have have sparked a fire to do so.

  6. When did we get to a point in society where we had to constantly rate things against one another. They can both be excellent. The discussion of why one thing is superior to another when every single person’s taste and preference is different is such a futile exercise.

It’s not baaaaaaaaaaaad, but I prefer pork.

  8. bdart1980

I find lamb quite gamey so I’d prefer pulled pork I’d imagine.

For some reason lamb doesn’t agree with me. So I have to say pork. But would like it to agree.

    For me, definitely.
Hot take (european here), pork neck belongs in cutlets on the grill.

    What’t the recipe?
The best lamb I ate was from a spit, but due to inexperience, it took 6.5h to cook. Usually they aim for 3.5. It was so soft and succulent compared to standard spit, which is chewy and no connective tissues ever melt.

I love braised Lamb Shanks. I’d like to try that.

  13. Ive honestly never had lamb, but ive heard good things when its cooked just right, especially with mint jelly for some reason lol

I love pulled pork though. Its versatile

  14. JudsonIsDrunk

Now you need some lettuce, tomato, red onion and tzatziki sauce

  15. PiERetro

I love pulled lamb. I often do it for small gatherings with friends, with flatbreads, pickled red onions, salad, tzatziki, roast baby potatoes and grilled onions and peppers. Can be tricky to keep moist, but totally worth the effort.

  16. Russtuffer

I honestly never thought of smoking it to pull it. I think most don’t simply because of the cost. For the same size of pork it would be like double the cost at least for me. I love lamb, wish I had more options of buying it economically.

  17. MonjStrz

…..i have never actually thought about making pulled lamb before

  18. iLostMyDildoInMyNose

I’ve never had pulled lamb and now I’m upset I’ve gone my whole life without trying it

  19. itaintmeyono

I don’t know about it being better but it sure is hell it’s fuckin great! I love pulled lamb!

  20. rban123

I will always go for pulled pork. lamb is delicious, but pork never lets me down. More of a once and a while thing for me

  21. For pulled meat, if you like lamb, you’ll love goat, especially for the price.

  22. IndependenceDizzy891

Lamb shoulder my man it is it looks tasty

  23. RUKiddingMeReddit

Too expensive, I only do it once in a while.

  24. standardtissue

I have very strong opinions on lamb as it was a major meat for me growing up. I feel once you have achieved a beautiful roast on it, you should sure it as-is, not pulled. I also would not want the same seasonings that I would on pork.

  25. I like pulled pork more than pulled lamb, and I like lamb chops more than pork chops. Wouldn’t say no to any of them on my plate though!

  26. Huge fan of both tbh.

Lamb shoulder is well worth trying if you haven’t. Any recipe for slow cooked leg of lamb will be better with a shoulder in my opinion. Really welcomes more Mediterranean spices on the outside compared to pork. Fennel, ground rosemary & cumin are my go tos. Pull that and serve with flatbread and tzatziki and you’re livin’

  27. random_notrandom

I’d be willing to try it. Ive enjoyed lamb cooked other ways and never considered this. Does one need to follow the same temperature principles for pulled lamb as if they were smoking for pullled pork?

Gordon Ramsey: *Where’s the Lamb Sauce*

  29. One_Win_6185

I’ve seen lamb shoulder at my Aldi for awhile. About how long did this take you and how did you rub it? Did you essentially treat it the same as pork shoulder?
