MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — Firefighters in Montgomery County said that several bikes were destroyed after improperly discarded cooking materials sparked a fire on Monday afternoon.

According to the Montgomery County Fire Rescue, emergency crews were dispatched to the 100 block of Watkins Station Circle in Gaithersburg, Maryland, after reports of a building fire.

Crews arrived shortly after 1:30 p.m. and found bicycles burning at the rear of the property, which investigators determined were set on fire by the discarded cooking materials.

No one was injured, and no residents were displaced as a result of the fire. Fire crews cleared the scene shortly after putting out the flames.
