For reference…. The is a a Spirit 310. Purchased in November 2019 and it has lived it’s entire life outdoors year round in the Northeast USA with a Weber cover always on when not in use.
I tried to fire it up the other day and there was a regulator hose leak and the insides were toasted so I decided to buy a new grill. I bought a new Weber Spirit 425 (scored an open box special for $475) but when I got home I felt bad about abandoning the old girl so I decided to bring her back to life. Exterior steel and frame were still in great shape but the flavor bars and grate were rusted. The drip pan was literally full of rust. Pulled everything out and scraped it down the best i could. Scrubbed the hell out of it, got new flavor bars and pulled this replacement grate out of storage. I bought it on clearance at Lowe’s a few years ago and had it laying around waiting for this day.
Now I have 2 “new” grills!

Looks great. For the gas grill application, why have the removable middle? You inset something there?
