My questions are these…

  • How am I supposed to use the flip side of the Weber grill grates I have. When you flip them around there doesn’t seem to be any way to make the center circle stick.
  • I can use modern day Weber 300 (3 burner) parts right? Like for new burners and the full size griddle insert I want to get for it.
  • what is the best resource for a full restoration? I am not sure I want to do it myself. But I have a friend who does handy man work and This could be a neat project for him to work on for me.
-anyone have any preference for what wood they use on replacement tables for it? I’ll make the slats myself. I’m mainly wondering if I should use pressure treated? Or would normal hardwood be ok?

Thanks everyone.

Weber customer service is awesome. They will help you determine exact model and still have parts, and they will create an account so in future they know your model and can send whatever parts you need. I have nearly exact model and refurbed it myself, was in worse shape than yours. For the slats at my Lowes they had cedar slats nearly exact width, cut to size and oiled with teak oil. There is Weber grill forum online that has a wealth of info and help. Mine is 40 years old and going strong. Good luck.

The grates should be as you have in the second pic (flat side facing up). Get them good and hot and you’ll have nice grill marks in no time.
