[**Fried herrings**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brathering)? I’ve never tried them. This is the great thing about foodie subs. You get to hear about all sorts of interesting things.

I don’t have an air fryer, but when I see folks reviewing this can, it makes me wonder if this herring is a prime candidate for a quick crisping blast.

Fried dace is outstanding when paired with potatoes and onions

I tried the Bratheringe from Rewe’s own brand, tbh Branntweinessig is not my favorite. I did not enjoy it as much. Anything like Hering in tomato or other sauces like curry mango and senf-honig is honestly so much better. I can just dump the entire thing over rice and eat it as it is.

In germany there’s the common joke that english tongues can’t pronounce the word „Bratheringe“ because in german it’s pronounced brat-heringe, with the th separated (that’s supposed to be rare in the english language, I dunno) So they speak it as „braphering“ which is gibberish, lol.

I find that air frying tinned fish makes them dry and I prefer them moist

I have a tin of those in my pantry, never tried them before. I do buy the fried sprats in tomato sauce which are very tasty.

I never understood why they make these. The breading is nothing but slimy paste after sitting in a can of liquid for months on end.

Canned fish super healthy, tasty and convenient

The texture is just so disgusting to me so u couldn’t do it without gagging. If it’s something you’re fine with then more power to you.

Fried herrings is banger but from a can seems morally wrong
