Doing a rib eye tomorrow and wondering what pellet would compliment it more?

    Hickory is bolder IMO. Gourmet is OK, kind of weak but would be good for steak.

    I use Bold Blend for pretty much everything but will use the Hickory for bacon.

    I tend to buy the cheapest pellets that burn well and then buy good stuff and burn it in a tube on the rack.

    Just used these myself last week for the first time. Hickory is was better. Must more flavor the. Treager pellets by far. However, slightly more ash (almost more fluffier like ash) i’d purchase it again.

    Bear Mountain is the best bang for your buck. I’ve been using their Old Fashioned blend for pork & chicken recently and really like it 👍

  7. I don’t really notice a difference with pellets… the rub I feel makes much more of a difference. Usually just go with good reviews and comp blend. I could be wrong.

    Can’t go wrong with Oak, Hickory, or Pecan. Those seem to extract more flavor than Cherry or Apple.

    Pick up here locally at Academy for a really good price. Mesquite for my brisket and chicken. Gourmet for pork and also chicken. What else should I try and on what?
