Neraki Greek Mediterranean Grill, a beloved fixture in Huntington Village, will serve its very last moussaka and gyros this month.
The restaurant on Sept. 14 will end a 14-year run that made it a cornerstone of the village’s dining community.
The family-owned eatery, located at 273 Main St., announced its closure in a heartfelt message to customers on social media. The note thanked patrons for their loyalty and invited them to visit during the Neraki’s final 10 days of operation.
“After over 14 wonderful years serving the Huntington community, we are saddened to announce that Neraki will be serving its last meal on September 14th,” the Moschos family and restaurant team wrote in their farewell message.
No information was provided about the reasons for the closure or future plans for the restaurant space.

The Neraki announcement prompted an outpouring of support from longtime customers who praised the restaurant’s authentic Greek cuisine and the family’s community spirit.
“So saddened to hear this,” customer Jennifer Osborne commented on social media. “You and your family/restaurant have been so incredibly generous to those of us in the Huntington community over the years and as a result, you will always be remembered for that and always loved & cherished in many of our hearts.”
Osborne specifically highlighted the restaurant’s generosity during the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that “your generosity during the Covid crisis was unrivaled and the appreciation that we have toward you for that is too great for words.”
Other customers echoed similar sentiments about the restaurant’s impact on the community.
“This is heartbreaking!” wrote Debbie Budesa Antoniadis, while Dot Schmitt added, “So sad to hear this. Great food and even better people who gave back to the community.”
Neraki was known as a family-owned and operated restaurant using age-old recipes passed down through generations, with the owner personally handpicking ingredients from the Hunts Point Markets daily.
The restaurant encouraged customers to visit during its final weeks so that ownership can say goodbye and “thank you in person.” Ownership in its closing announcement expressed gratitude “from the bottom of our hearts” for the memories shared with the Huntington community.
