Thank God. That place was terrible. We paid for like $60 meal and walked out after three bites. Horrible food, cocktails, and such a weird vibe inside

I have never heard of this place

That was fast

Not too surprised they only lasted 10 months. Inconsistent grub and generally overpriced. Rough location too.
Gonna sound like a shithead here, but using ChatGPT to bid farewell is weird. Feel like that’s something that should be from the heart.

I couldn’t really figure out the vibe here. It was like upscale bbq? It was decent, but it was too expensive imo.

It’s a shame, but the concept of didn’t make a lot of sense to me, especially in this economy. To do high end / fancy barbecue here in Texas, it has to be really good and be somewhat innovative to justify a higher price point. The interior design was good, but felt a little too formal for barbecue.
Party_Taco_Plz
Yeah, there was no way this place was gonna survive.
1) way too expensive 2) trying too hard sides 3) $$$ buildout that was going to take years to recoup
I mean, the only BBQ spot in this part of town that’s empty at lunch is Bird Dog (which I’m pretty sure is a front) and their food is still superior to what B&G was slinging by a good margin.

I tried the brisket once and it was okay went back for lunch and it was absolutely horrible. Almost inedible food. Horrible service and we were literally the only people there. I got the feeling nobody was in charge.Stone cold dry cornbread just awful.
There was nothing redeemable. This was inevitable.
CrimsonScorpio9
I looked at the menu when it first opened and said “nope”. Too expensive

Tried this place once. They were filming a commercial or something RIGHT AT 11AM! Took forever to get our food because of this and was subpar at best especially for the price. This was a pretty bad concept.
Flimsy_Blackberry_55
Not surprised at all. Ate there after some hype and the food overall was mid to not great. Their happy hour pork sliders were the only redeeming thing, but the concept and execution of the restaurant didnt make sense. If you want a sit down “upscale” BBQ experience, just go to Lamberts. They have done it well for years.

The tried and true Anderson staples always survive. It’s the last bit of old North Austin left: from Burnet to Lamar. When you see the pink gorilla, you’ll know.

I went for Father’s Day and was deeply disappointed. Figured this was coming. Hopefully , something cool can come into the space.
Badly run. Went for brunch once bc we’re in the neighborhood. My dish didn’t come out until 20mins after everyone else. Bad execution. Weird vibe inside. No one there, they didn’t turn on any music. Host said she just started and no one had trained her. Didn’t get menus, no idea about specials. Seemed like they put more effort into the social media than the actual operations. Was eery. Went again for dinner. Empty. Meat was pretty dry, everything was yellow. Walked away saying they didn’t have 6 months. That was July 3rd.
Jammer_Jim
I got a Doordashed brisket burger and the chicken wings from there. The wings were fine, but not the amazing thing I expected. The burger was also…fine. Pretty disappointing given the price.

I hadn’t heard about this place and went there on a whim a few months ago. It was a bizarre experience. The vibe in the place was off. The tables hadn’t been bussed. The drinks were tasty and unique but inconsistent. I got great drinks but the bf’s drinks were … not. I tried to be excited about the experience but it felt incoherent. It just wasn’t coming together.
Madgisil
Wasn’t very good. They probably spent way too much on the build too.
Broyota
I work very close by. My coworkers and I were really excited to try it for lunch when they were building it up. Then we saw the prices….and just never got around to it.
mrcrude
It was doomed in that location. Close proximity to Stiles and much pricier.
LonesomeBulldog
They spent way longer building out the space than they were open

Went there once. Ordered the “corn fritters” appetizer and what arrived was a woefully dry slice of baked cornbread with some melted cheese, corn and pico on top. I told the waiter nicely that I thought that “fritter” meant fried, and he said “yeah our chef has some interesting ideas” and then comped it.
vonnemusic
I went there literally days ago and everything I tried to order they had ran out of. The waitress even said they’ve been having inventory issues lately and she didn’t know why. I went there twice when it first opened and honestly I loved it then but didn’t like the new menu I ordered from this week. They tried.

Went there last week and it was completely dead. We were the only customers for a bit. I should have driven off when we saw the empty lot. We thought it was even closed but i was excited to try the happy hour smoked wings lol. We ordered a queso and it was very watery and cold. The wings were actually decent. Then we got a stale cornbread it was very dry. We ordered a picana steak and it had no salt and wasn’t cooked properly. We just did not complain and left unsatisfied. Next time i see an empty parking lot at a restaurant im backing out.
topazmonkey
Live nearby. Really wanted them to succeed, but this is entirely expected. Family went twice. Both times service was super bad, and the food was super mid.
Was a bummer for us to watch them fail so fast in real-time.
I hope a different restaurant gives the space a try.

Austin restaurant scene is extremely competitive. You snooze, you lose.

Reddit is generally a negative place but generally when a place closes someone sticks up for it.

I used to work there. Not surprised one bit. Lot of inner management drama lot of employee drama.

Well the owners seemed like terrible people. Their poached ad for servers was the most disrespectful, boomer nonsense I’ve ever read.
