Hi yall I am trying to figure out how to count my rice and I feel dumb asf.

I wanna make 1 cup (uncooked) rice.
This should yield 3 cups cookies right??
And I think it should be around 700 cals for all 3 cups??

If you make 1 cup dry rice, it’ll be the serving size (160 for 1/4) times four to make one cup, for 640 calories for one cup. Can be more if you cook with butter or oil etc. So your math is pretty close.

Hehe. “3 cups cookies” this sounded cutesy.

It says right on here what one cup uncooked rice yields, which is 2 cups cooked, not three cups cooked.

    1/4 cup dry rice = 1 serving = 1/2 cup cooked rice = 160 calories

    1 cup of uncooked rice (4 x 1/4c serving size) = 4 servings so 4 x 160 =640 calories

If 2 cups of cooked rice is 4 servings, that means 1 serving is a ~1/2 cup of cooked rice.

I like to make my rice with beef or chicken broth/stock btw adds minimal calories but bumps it up a notch flavor wise

I was so confused and thought the fluffy rug/blanket was part of the rice

1 cup dry = 2 cups cooked. That’s 4 servings. It doubles in size

Unfortunately, this is rice. There will be no cookies! 🫠

1 cup of uncooked rice will yield 2 cups of cooked rice, totaling 640 calories (4 servings).
